PACEC have been commissioned to carry out the 2010 Homeless Watch survey on behalf of all of the local authorities in Nottinghamshire, including Nottingham City Council. Information from the annual Homeless Watch survey is used by a range of organisations to analyse levels of homelessness and the support needs of homeless people to ensure a sufficient range of services are available to meet their needs. This year's survey will be used in the review of local homelessness plans and strategies, including Supporting People funded services.

We understand the strategic importance of Third Sector research and we have extensive experience within the team of formulating, managing and supporting strategic research programmes for clients, including survey research, data analysis, diversity audits and mapping exercises, performance and benchmarking and consultations with service users and stakeholders. We work with infrastructure support organisations which support the wider voluntary, community and faith sectors to deliver results for the wider community.

We have a practical working knowledge of the Sector, its infrastructure and the general policy environment in which organisations operate, particularly in relation to the barriers and constraints they face at local level. Having worked directly with the sector and organisations funded by Capacity builders and those involved in the ChangeUp programme we understand the evidence requirements to help to deliver Consortia Business Plans for example. Furthermore, we can help to identify the key investment priorities which are the catalysts for the modernisation of infrastructure provision in order to improve the sectors, capacity, sustainability, quality and reach using our range of research products and support services.

Our clients have included social enterprises, the voluntary, community and faith sector, and partner organisations including over 40 Local Authorities, CVS's and infrastructure organisations as well Regional Development Agencies, local partnerships, central government, and the education, learning and skills sector including education providers.

Our approach

All projects are different and we tailor our products and services to meet the needs of clients. We work closely with clients to develop coherent, evidence based research programmes in order build their capacity by way of ongoing support and the provision of advice on all research matters including technical advice. Our aim is to build capacity through training and support so that organisations become self sufficient in delivering and indeed providing research services themselves for the sector.

At PACEC we have our own in house Local Economic and Social Profiling System. LESPS aims to support strategy and policy development in the sector and provides clients with a powerful capability to analyse their local socio geo-demographic profiles and identify any strengths and weaknesses. It can be used in many contexts and provides clients with timely and robust local intelligence.

With a shift towards the delivery of services at local level, TSOs need to ensure that they are fit for purpose in the context of commissioning and procurement and shaping services towards service users and customer needs. Here we can provide consultation services with local communities and hard to reach service users. We have developed innovative approaches to engaging service users across all groups using a Client Involvement Matrix Tool. Please contact us for more information on this service

TSOs will also need to ensure they are equality and diversity compliant if they are to successfully engage in the commissioning and procurement of local services as well. PACEC can offer equalities and diversity auditing and impact assessments across TSOs within your local area.
